Maguni Charan Balashram is located at Mathani Village under Mathani Village, Basta Block, Baleswar District. This child care institute was born in 1976. Donor Heaven, Mr. Maguni Charan Mahapatra, gave the space a 2.03 acre space in the name of the group promotion officer Basta. Some of the money received from the block for the improvement of the land was actually officially operational on 26 May 1981. The first year consisted of 5 children but the program has been officially sanctioned by 150 students since 2008.
As per IC P.S. guideline Staff members have been chosen by the selection committee based on merit to supervise the 150 children under the management committee’s care since 2014, in accordance with the standards. Manager-1, Counselor-3, Entry Officer (C.W/S.W)-2, Warehouse and Accounts Keeper-1, Para-Medical-1, Housewife-3, Russian-3, Russian Helper-2, Housekeeper-3 (full time-24 hours), Data Entry Operator-1, General Education-4, Music and Dance-2, and Doctor-1, total 5 part-time employees. There are 27 employees in all, 19 full-time and 8 part-time.
In this child care institute, boys from 5 to 18 years of age receive education in general education, computer education, music, yoga. Important memorial days, puja texts, awareness are raised by various sages to be included in the social mainstream. Every year leisure camps, annual festivals and cultural events are held, toilets for bathing and toileting, filter tanks for drinking and ex-guard system for child’s cleanliness and hygiene, accommodation and food are provided.

In 1983 His Excellency the Governor of Odisha Shri Vishambara Nath Pandey visited the Ashram. In 1983 in Odisha, the then Chief Minister Hon’ble Swargat Biju Patnaik’s Minister of Mandals Mr. Padmanav Behera and Jaleshwar MLA Mr. Ashwini Kumar Pote came on a surprise visit and were happy and gave a financial grant of Rs-2,25,000/- for the accommodation of 25 children.
In the financial year 2000/2001, the Rajya Sabha Parliament gave a grant of Rs. In the financial year 2000/2001, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Manmath Kumar Das donated Rs-4,22,000/- for housing four lakh twenty two thousand children. In 2018/2019 financial year Lok Sabha MP Eng. Rabindra Kumar Jena gave a grant of Rs-1,00,000/- for lighting. In the financial year 2019/2020, Lok Sabha MP Mr. Pratap Chandra Shadangi has donated Rs. In the financial year 2021/2022, Panchayat Samiti, Basta has done Rs-5,00,000/- five lakhs for the improvement of the field and Rs-2,00,000/- two lakhs for tree plantation under the Mahatma Gandhi Guaranteed Employment Scheme.
Our Achievements & Rewards-
In 2006, on the occasion of Children’s Day, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, 2 children were awarded AIHS. C was awarded for securing the highest marks in the examination Among them Shriman Nanda Soren stood first with 565 and Subuda Soren stood second with 521 and got Rs-5,000/- and Rs-3,000/- as prizes from the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
So far, 350 children have come out of this child care institute and have been placed in different places Among them – one in Junior Scientific Institute, Vice Principal in Government ITI – one, Electrical SDO – two, Civil Engineer – two, Police Officer -2, Conservator -10, Teacher -25, Export Technician in various states. 105 people, 70 established professionals, 78 people in higher education in various fields and departments and 16 people are engaged in agriculture and other work.
